A delegation of 13 students and 3 teachers from Auguste-Viktoria Gymnasium, Trier visited their partner school Sarvodaya Central Vidyalaya on 10th February, 2023.
Later that evening, they were officially welcomed at Goethe-Zentrum Trivandrum by Honorary Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany for Kerala & the Director of Goethe-Zentrum, Trivandrum & Kochi, Dr. Syed Ibrahim. A cultural programme was put together by the students of the children’s courses at Goethe-Zentrum, which portrayed the various interesting cultural and traditional aspects of Kerala, through songs and a presentation about the festivals of Kerala. The colourful programme was followed by an even more colourful Rangoli Workshop complete with a live demonstration of the art of Rangoli by Ms. Anitha Natarajan, a Goethe-Zentrum faculty, who is an artist herself. The Indian students taught the German students to make Rangolis switching between English and German to communicate comfortably, which broke the ice and helped them to get to know each other better. The programme ended with the children dancing to Malayalam folk /film songs.
The students from AVG, Trier, Germany enjoyed high tea with the students and teachers of Goethe-Zentrum after an exciting evening.
