It doesn’t require much discussion to realise that our minds open up and our horizons widen, when we get an opportunity at an earlier age to get to know the people and culture of another country. Exactly with this realisation in our objectives, the Goethe-Zentrum actively involves in establishing school collaborations between Germany and Kerala. The Trivandrum based Christ Nagar International School found a like-minded partner in the St. Thomas High School from Wettenhausen, close to Augsburg. Within this exchange program, 20 students and two teachers from Christ Nagar International School visited their partner School in April this year, which is now being reciprocated by the same number of students and teachers from Germany here in Trivandrum. It was our proud moment to receive both the Indian and German students at the Goethe-Zentrum for formal reception and exchange with our German learning students. It’s our strong conviction that through such exchange programs, the intercultural and sociopolitical understanding between two culturally and linguistic different nations will find new avenues of positive togetherness and progress. We wish to thank the managements, the participating teachers, students and the German Consulate General in Bangalore for making this school partnership project a great example for all to emulate.
