Goethe-Zentrum Announces New B2-2 Course!
If you think, you need a little bit more time and attention to do the B2 Course, Goethe-Zentrum now offers you an intensive B2.2-Course from 3rd of May onwards. The course will be for a duration of two and a half hours a day and will also include a thorough revision of B1 & B2.1 portions...The course will have 3 lesson units every day from Monday to Friday and that way you get more time to do the extensive course materials. Of course, with much more time dedicated to you from the faculty member. This Intensive B2.2-Course will have a total duration of 12 weeks and concludes on 28th of July. The international examination can be written in our Kochi centre during the first week of August. Only 20 seats are available and offered on first-come-first-served basis. It has come to our notice that the name of the Goethe-Zentrum is being abused by certain persons to extort huge amounts from examination candidates, promising them a seat to write the Goethe Certificate examination in Trivandrum and Kochi. We request you to be aware of such fraudulent activities and refer to the examination fees stipulated by the Goethe-Institut. The registrations for the examination in April are already closed. The next available dates will be in June 2021 and the online registration will start in the month of May. The exact exam dates and online registration dates will be announced later

About Us

The Goethe-Zentrum in Trivandrum was established in the year 2008 with the primary objectives of offering German language classes for the levels A1 to C2.

The Goethe-Zentrum in Trivandrum and its branch in Kochi are managed by the Indo-German Language and Cultural Society (IGLCS), registered according to the Travancore-Cochin Charitable Societies Act. The IGLCS is governed by a seven-member board, chaired by Mr. G. Vijaya Raghavan, founder CEO of Kerala’s first IT park Technopark and former member of the State Planning Board.

The other members of the board are:

    1.Prof. Dr. Latha Tampi – Vice-Chairperson and Former Head of the Department of German, University of Kerala
    2.Dr. Syed Ibrahim – Honorary Secretary and Honorary Consul of the Federal Republic of Germany for Kerala
    3.Mr. Subramoniya Sarma – Chartered Accountant
    4.Mr. Ratheesh Ayyappan – Legal Advisor
    5.Mrs. Sheena Syed
    6.Mr. Ajith Nambissan

The Board meets every three months to discuss and decide on the activities undertaken by the Goethe-Zentrum or any matter related to it.



The Goethe-Zentrum in Trivandrum is ideally located in the centre of the city, near the University of Kerala. It offers most-modern infrastructure including air-conditioned classrooms with smart board and facilities including cafeteria, amphitheater, open lawns, multimedia self-study room with tablets and computers as well as a band stand.

The Kochi branch is also very centrally located parallel to the MG Road and has well-equipped, air-conditioned classrooms, a small roof-top café and covered terrace for multiple purposes.
